Upcoming Content and Reviews!

Hi everyone! Just another quick update post with a glimpse into what I’m working on right now. Let’s get right into it.

Plans for Next Week

Razer Kaira Pro Review- The Kaira Pro has landed! This is Razer’s new Xbox-focused headset, and represents the biggest play the company has ever made for Xbox gamers. Only a few other companies have taken the plunge on dedicated Xbox gaming headsets, thanks to the need to license the proprietary Wi-Fi Direct-derived Xbox Wireless protocol. The Kaira is great so far in early listening. You may have noticed that my recent “2020’s Best Wireless Headset” article left a metaphorical door open for an Xbox-specific award. There’s a reason for that!

JBL Quantum ONE Review- I had originally planned for this to go live today or tomorrow, but with the arrival of the Kaira Pro, and my attempt to get through Immortals Fenyx Rising, this one is now scheduled for Wednesday the 9th. This heasdet is fascinating. It combines premium sound and materials with a design and feature set that feels like it fell out of an alternate universe. Its priced at “flagship level,” but its features don’t necessarily align with what folks might want out of that type of product. Also, it faces stiff competition from JBL’s own Quantum 800, which offers Bluetooth capabilities and USB wireless, and is one hundred dollars cheaper.

I really like many aspects of the Quantum One. But the more time I spend with it, the more I’m not sure who it was made for.

Immortals Fenyx Rising Review- I’m several hours into this game, and so far it’s completely awesome. It has an exceptionally paced campaign. A huge open world to explore. Epic, exciting combat. And a genuinely fun, well-written story. This is probably the biggest gaming surprise of the year.

Plans for the rest of the year

Best Headphones, Best Xbox Headset, Best Games of the Year, Best Dynasty Warriors Games of 2020- The remainder of my “Best of the year” articles should all be live before we close out the year. I waited a big longer than normal because of some late product arrivals, and because I wanted to play through Cyberpunk before picking my favorite games.

Stadia Controller Review- I was one of many lucky people to receive a “free” Stadia premiere bundle thanks to being a Youtube Premium subscriber. My unit had sat in a warehouse for over a year, and it seems like that warehouse still isn’t empty because now you can get a bundle by pre-ordering Cyberpunk. I really like the Stadia controller, and I would have reviewed it already, but I’m having an issue where my d-pad randomly sticks when moving right and I’m trying to figure out if it’s a common problem or not before I commit to a public opinion.

That’s everything in my content pipeline right now. As always, I’m sure there will be a few surprises along the way. Thanks for stopping by!
