Streets of Rage 4!

I don't have a lot more to say other than my exclamatory title, except for that I hope the game is out before the end of the year.

Filling the shoes of SOR 1-3 is a tough thing to do. When I was a kid, I liked Streets of Rage, but I was always more of a Final Fight person. But these days, I think I like SOR more. Final Fight was always saddled with the burden of being an arcade game first, and even its finest home conversions had a sharp and uneven difficulty as a result.

Streets of Rage never suffered from that design issue. The games combine pitch perfect gameplay design with brilliant music by Yuzo Koshiro. They're not the longest things in the world, but they're still eminently playable and fun in spite of being over 2 decades old.

Can this new game live up to those old classics? Can its soundtrack even possibly hope to compete? Who can say!!! Hopefully we'll find out soon!
