The Article That Just Won't Die

I spent some time this afternoon looking through the analytics for World Bolding, and it’s nice to see that people are enjoying the headphone reviews I’ve written recently.

However.

My most popular article on the site, month in and month out, is this old one about the original Arctis 7 and how it stacks up against Logitech’s G533. These are both relatively ancient gaming headsets, launching over two years ago. The Arctis 7 has a slightly improved successor on the market, and the G533 has been largely forgotten by Logitech. They’ve purchased Astro and pivoted their headsets more towards wired products, using the same basic driver material and overall design in the excellent recent G Pro.

But that hasn’t stopped a whole lot of people from reading that comparison.

It’s never the ones I expect.

I haven’t even seen a G533 on a local shelf in a really long time, but I’m hopeful that people out there are still buying them. A G533 Pro with an optional wire backup would be a nigh-unassailable product in today’s gaming headset space, if it were priced right. I’d love to see Pro versions of the whole “33” headset lineup, replacing the larger shell design from the 633/933 with the smaller design of the G Pro.

But I’m not sure that’ll ever happen.

I live a short drive some Logitech’s R and D building in the states. I’m sure if I drove up there and wanted to suggest some things they’d totally let me in, right? Right?

I’m kidding.

I haven’t invaded the headquarters of a tech company since I waltzed into Nintendo as a six year old.
