Starbucks Dark Mocha Frappuccino Review

Earlier this year, Starbucks released the Midnight Mint Mocha Frappuccino. It had dark chocolate, whipped cream, and a sprinkle of mint.

Now there's a new one that's basically the same thing, but without the whipped cream or the mint crystals.

It's pretty good.

It's basically just a Mocha Frappuccino but with dark chocolate instead of milk chocolate. It only barely tastes like coffee, and it's smooth and refreshing.

Well.

That's not long enough for a review, is it?

Would it help if I said that I had them add some peppermint to mine?

I did.

And I think I liked it more than the classic Peppermint Mocha Frappuccino that I will soon be tempted to drink a million of.

I always drink lots of peppermint beverages every holiday season, and it's very healthy for me. Peppermint reminds me of the holidays, because that's the time when all of these companies decide to put peppermint into absolutely everything.

I'd be okay if peppermint was just around all of the time...but then I'd probably never stop consuming it. I have peppermint in my body wash.

Anyway the Dark Mocha Frappuccino is good. It's a little bit less intense on the tongue than a regular mocha-flavored one, and it combines well with the peppermint syrup.

It also kind of looks like dirt. Which is a bummer. It looks like dark purple-tinged dirt with some weird business inside of it.

The Midnight Mint Mocha Frap had this same aesthetic problem, and even though I got used to it after a while, I'll admit that on first blush it was quite striking in the wrong way.

If you like coffee milkshakes like I do, you will almost certainly enjoy this one.
